Theo Edmonds brings his brush back to the Bluegrass.
By by: Donna Ison, Monday, May 2, 2011In the fall of 2008, Theo packed his great grandfather’s rocking chair, paint-splattered boots, moleskin writing journal, and headed for New York City where he launched a solo art show in SoHo. Since, his work, which is a combination of painting, collage, sculpture, and performance, has been shown in Deauville and Paris, France, as well as at the prestigious Art Basel festival in Miami. Now, he’s returned to serve as a Visiting Artist and pursue his MFA at UK. He’s also opening a studio that will focus on painting, installation, and concept performance art. His philosophy is, “It’s never too late to become what you might have been.” With former incarnations as a world-class clogger, Goodwill Ambassador for Kentucky, attorney, and Corporate Health Care Administrator, it’s obvious he practices what he preaches.
