WHITE TIGHTS FOR GROWN-UPS !

WHEN I SAW MY FIRST PAIR OF WHITE TIGHTS ON AN ACTUAL GROWN-UP WOMAN, I THOUGHT, "YUCK" !  AND "OH, NO" !

It may have been left-over dread from my last job, where I sold tons of them during back-to-school week. They reminded me of little girls. Pre-school girls. Easter egg hunting, flouncy lace-covered little girls. But as the tides of fashion flow, so do I, and who am I to resist a challenge! Steel Ovaries and all !

So here's how I made them more appealing to Grown-ups!

NOT LIKE THIS.......

LIKE THIS!

I picked a thick, patterened pair in cream. I avoided the sheer ones (Think Easter, 1975).

Not bad. They kinda remind me of Thermals, which I wear hiking with shorts all the time!

Added a tan knee-sock and tall brown boots. Not quite ready for full blown exposure!

Chose a shirt dress in a neutral plaid. I thrifted this one (J.Crew) for $3 bucks. It has a faux slip, (which eventually had to go!). It was cold, so a long sleeve T underneath.

Added a thrifted brown belt and a gray vest.

My accessories I kept neutral. A gray cashmere beret ( on clearance form K-mart for $7.99), and copper pendant with 3 tone dangle earrings. My glasses even matched, but that was a coinky-dink!

My newest thrift- a brown satchel from the 70's ($4 bucks).

AND WA-LA! The end result!

I wore the belt on top of the vest at first, but decided on letting it loose. It just felt better.

I GUESS I LEARNED NOT TO BE AFRAID TO TRY NEW THING. I JUST REMEMBER TO MAKE THEM MY OWN!
